Peach season is a wonderful, fragrant, delicious harbinger of summer to come. OK, for some of us, it means summer is in full swing. Either way, most of us look forward to the ripening of the peach harvest.
On a recent outing, we brought home a big basket of the sweetest, juiciest peaches we’ve had in a long time. Thin I wondered, “What should we do with these luscious peaches?”
Let’s see, I could make a light fruit salad of peaches, strawberries, and blueberries. Well, I’m fresh out of blueberries, but here is a delicious dessert of peaches and strawberries.
Or, I could make peach ice cream. Bummer, I don’t have an ice cream freezer. We may have to correct that situation. If and when we buy one, I’ll be sure to tell you if it’s a good one. If it’s not, I’ll let you know that, too.
I could also make a peach smoothy or peach daquari. Of course, there’s always peach cobbler. Here’s some peach cobbler Bo made. As soon as I can type the recipe, I’ll put a link to it right here.
Peaches, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, melons — all these luscious fruits are one of the best parts of summer. So, dive in. Eat up.
